Strength training is also Cardio!?
Lets get down to the Heart of the matter…

My passion in life has become helping people see the differences in strength training and cardio training. Basically it’s this simple; strength training creates tension in our body during exercise this tension puts stress on the heart and heart rate increases as it should. This is a great way to build muscle but ultimately it’s not good for our hearts.

Because of this we need to exercise our hearts in a non tension sort of way like from running, rowing, cross country skiing or cycling. Those are the 4 examples and nothing else really makes the cut for true cardio. The only one that can build muscle and exercise our heart is rowing which explains why this is what we do at LIVE FIT. Rowing is the perfectly balanced exercise building heart and muscle simultaneously!
